This is the seventh edition of Startup Camp Montreal, an event dedicated to everything Startup. It is the forum where early stage companies, investors and on-lookers alike can share information and validate pitches live. Join us as we learn from each other about the ins and outs of pitching a start up. This event is not just for Montrealers, all are welcome. Space is limited, so you need to register soon.

The organizer of this event is Phil Telio of Embrase, with the support from Austin Hill, John Stokes, and Sylvain Carle. Anyone interested in helping with the organization of the event can contact us.

Perry Evans is the founder and CEO of Closely, Inc., a new start-up aimed at the live local marketing space. Perry’s entrepreneurial background extends through the very early days of the Internet. Having led the formation and development of MapQuest, Jabber and Local Matters over the past 15 years, Perry has been at the forefront of location-based publishing, real-time messaging and local search. Closely, Inc has created a new platform designed for scaled small business participation in live local promotions across social media, real-time search and LBS services. Perry sits on the board of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at CU Boulder, and is an active member of the C100 Network of Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs. COO, Beyond the Rack - Robert Gold is an experienced entrepreneur with over 20 years in merchandising, sales, and operations. Prior to co-founding Beyond the Rack, Robert was President of Gosh Marketing and Donald Berman Enterprises, both leading consumer product companies that supply many of North America’s most important retailers. Previously Robert spent 10 years of his career with A. Gold & Sons as a buyer and ultimately as V.P. of Operations. Robert has been a member of the Board of Directors of JPPS-Bialik since 2006, and has been very active in fundraising as the Co-Chair for the Concert Society for 2006-2008. — website
CEO, Beyond the Rack - Yona Shtern is an accomplished consumer marketer with over 20 years experience in online, direct, and retail marketing across a variety of product categories, including beauty and fashion, telecommunications, and consumer products. Prior to co-founding Beyond the Rack, Yona was CMO of, one of the most successful North American jewelry e-tailers. Yona was also CEO of Gosh Marketing, a leading consumer products company that supplies many of North America’s most important retailers. Previously, Yona held executive positions at My Virtual Model, Microcell (Fido), Saks Fifth Avenue, and Avon Products.
